Description

"Rampage World Tour" is a chaotic and entertaining video game that was released for the Sega Saturn in 1997. Developed by Midway Games, it serves as a sequel to the original 1986 arcade game "Rampage." In this action-packed title, players can choose to take control of one of three mutated monsters: George (a giant ape), Lizzie (a massive dinosaur), or Ralph (a gigantic werewolf). The primary objective of the game is to wreak havoc across various global locations, demolishing cities to rubble while battling military forces that attempt to stop the carnage. Each character has unique abilities and a common goal to cause maximum destruction on their path, escalating their rampage from the United States to international cities, providing hours of destructive fun.

"Rampage World Tour" introduced several enhancements and features that distinguished it from its predecessor. The game embraced a darker, more humorous tone and featured improved graphics and expanded gameplay mechanics, including the ability to eat items for health and special attacks. This installment of the Rampage series was well-received for its addicting cooperative gameplay, allowing up to three players to join in simultaneously, which made it a popular choice for multiplayer sessions. The Sega Saturn version, along with versions for other platforms like the PlayStation and Nintendo 64, helped to solidify Rampage's place as a memorable and influential series in the arcade-style video game genre. Its widespread appeal led to further sequels and adaptations, even inspiring a major motion picture adaptation in 2018, demonstrating the enduring legacy of the franchise.
