Description

"An American Tail: Fievel Goes West" is a platform video game developed for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), based on the animated film of the same name released by Universal Pictures in 1991. In this game, players control Fievel Mousekewitz, a young mouse emigrating from Russia to the United States, who has landed in the Wild West and is out to defeat the villainous Cat R. Waul and his gang of cats who are terrorizing the mice population. As Fievel, players explore various environments of the Wild West, including towns, deserts, and trains, navigating through levels filled with obstacles, enemies, and collection quests.

The gameplay involves typical platformer elements such as running, jumping, and dodging to progress through levels. Unique to this game is the use of Fievel's hat, which he can throw like a boomerang to defeat enemies or interact with specific environment features. Released in 1994, "An American Tail: Fievel Goes West" captures the charm and narrative of the film while incorporating challenging game mechanics that appeal to younger audiences and fans of the movie. The game stands out for its faithful adaptation of the film's characters and settings, though it faced mixed reviews regarding its difficulty level and controls. Nevertheless, it remains a nostalgic piece for many fans of the early '90s animation and SNES gaming era.
